| Ben Mawhorter bases his teaching and playing style on the training he has received from his guru, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. Most compositions are based on the Lucknow Gharana of which Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri is the prominent exponent.
Classes are taught in one-on-one or small group sessions up to four students at a time. Ben travels extensively throughout the Bay Area teaching Tabla privately in students' homes.
